This 10-day adventure on the iconic Lemosho Route on Mount Kilimanjaro experience begins with arrival in Moshi, followed by a scenic trek through rainforest, moorlands, alpine desert, and icy summit zones to reach Uhuru Peak at 5,895m. After the descent, the adventure may continue across Tanzania’s best wildlife parks including Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. The journey into Tanzania’s adventure capital gives you your first taste of the country’s natural beauty. At the lodge, you relax after your flight and later meet your mountain guide for a full briefing. The guide checks your equipment, explains the route, and prepares you mentally for the climb ahead. This is a calm and important preparation day that ensures everything is ready before you step onto Africa’s highest mountain tomorrow.

After breakfast, you drive through rural landscapes to Londorossi Gate for registration before continuing to the Lemosho trailhead. The trek begins in dense rainforest filled with towering trees, birds, and playful colobus monkeys. The trail is peaceful and gradually climbs through lush greenery, offering a perfect introduction to Kilimanjaro. The air is fresh and humid, and the sounds of nature surround you completely. After 3–4 hours of walking, you reach Big Tree Camp, where your tents are set and dinner is served under the forest canopy.

You leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone where giant heathers and volcanic rocks dominate the landscape. The scenery opens dramatically, revealing wide views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s slopes and distant peaks. The trail climbs steadily but is rewarding, with every step bringing cooler air and higher altitude. Kibo Peak slowly appears in the distance, creating excitement for the days ahead. After 5–6 hours of trekking, you arrive at Shira 1 Camp, located on a vast plateau with stunning sunset views and peaceful surroundings.

Today is a gentle acclimatization day across the wide Shira Plateau, one of the highest plateaus in the world. The landscape is open, quiet, and filled with volcanic formations that stretch endlessly toward the horizon. Optional hikes toward Shira Cathedral offer incredible panoramic views of Mount Meru and Kibo Peak. The pace is slow and steady, allowing your body to adjust comfortably to altitude. By early afternoon, you reach Shira 2 Camp where you relax, hydrate, and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere before night falls.

This is an important acclimatization day as you climb toward Lava Tower at 4,600 meters before descending into Barranco Valley. The terrain becomes harsher, with rocky paths and alpine desert scenery replacing vegetation. At Lava Tower, you pause for lunch and altitude adjustment, surrounded by dramatic volcanic formations. Afterward, you descend into a completely different ecosystem filled with giant senecios and deep valleys. Barranco Camp welcomes you in the late afternoon, beautifully positioned beneath towering cliffs and glaciers.

The day begins with the famous Barranco Wall, a steep but non-technical climb that rewards you with incredible views once you reach the top. From there, the trail winds through ridges and valleys with breathtaking scenery of glaciers and volcanic peaks. The landscape feels wild and untouched, offering a true sense of adventure. After a steady hike, you arrive at Karanga Camp where you rest and enjoy a warm meal. The afternoon is spent recovering and preparing for the higher elevations ahead.

You continue ascending into alpine desert terrain where vegetation disappears and the environment becomes harsh and cold. The path climbs steadily toward Barafu Camp, your final base before the summit attempt. The air grows thinner, and every step requires focus and slow pacing. After several hours, you reach camp surrounded by views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The afternoon is spent resting, hydrating, and preparing mentally for the midnight summit push.

Around midnight, your summit journey begins under a sky full of stars. The climb is slow and challenging as you ascend toward Stella Point, where the sunrise begins to glow over the horizon. From there, you continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Standing at 5,895 meters feels powerful and unforgettable, with glaciers and vast landscapes stretching below. After photos and celebration, you descend back through Barafu and continue to Mweka Camp for well-earned rest after the toughest day of your journey.

Your final descent takes you through lush rainforest filled with birds and monkeys. The trail feels easier as oxygen increases and warmth returns. At Mweka Gate, you receive your summit certificate, marking your achievement of climbing Kilimanjaro. After celebrations and farewells with your mountain crew, you are transferred back to Moshi. The rest of the day is for rest, recovery, and reflection on your incredible summit experience.
