Arrival in Central Serengeti and Migration Push Toward Kusini Plains
Your safari begins with a scenic flight from Arusha to Seronera Airstrip in the Central Serengeti. Upon arrival, meet your expert safari guide and start an immediate game drive heading south toward the Kusini plains. This region becomes highly active during April–May as migration herds begin moving from the Ndutu area toward the central ecosystem. Witness scattered columns of wildebeest, zebra, and calves navigating fresh green grasslands, often followed closely by lions and hyenas. Enjoy a bush or lodge lunch during the drive while observing wildlife activity. Later, continue exploration before returning to your camp for dinner in the wilderness.

Tracking the Migration Front Line into Seronera River Valley
After breakfast, depart for a full day game drive tracking the front line of the migration as herds move northward into the Seronera river valley within Serengeti National Park. This is a dynamic stage of the migration where movement is continuous, creating dramatic predator prey encounters. Watch as lions position themselves along routes and cheetahs scan open plains for opportunities. The landscape is lush and green, with rivers attracting both wildlife and predators. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild while surrounded by active migration movement. Continue following herds into the afternoon before returning to your lodge or camp for sunset, dinner, and overnight rest.

Resident Predator Search in the Migration Gap and Departure
Begin your final morning with an early game drive exploring the “migration gap” zone, where southern herds have moved on and northern herds have not yet fully arrived. This unique period concentrates resident wildlife, making it ideal for spotting lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas in high activity. The quieter plains offer excellent photography and focused predator observation. After a rewarding morning drive, return to camp for breakfast and a relaxed lunch. Later, transfer to Seronera Airstrip for your flight back to Arusha, marking the end of your migration transition safari with BMC TOURS & SAFARIS.
