Day 1 Central to Mbalageti River Route

Arrival from Arusha or Kilimanjaro and Migration Drive Toward Mbalageti River

Your safari begins with pickup from Arusha or arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport followed by a scenic transfer into Serengeti National Park. Enter Central Serengeti and begin an afternoon game drive heading west toward the Mbalageti River region. This area becomes active in June to July as straggler herds of wildebeest and zebra begin moving toward the Western Corridor. Watch for predators such as lions and hyenas trailing the herds, while elephants and giraffes remain in resident areas. Enjoy lunch during the journey or at a picnic site before continuing wildlife viewing. Later, arrive at your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight in the wilderness.

This is the best time to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, and elephants concentrated in permanent territories. The quieter plains allow for excellent photography and focused predator encounters. After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed drive as you exit the park, with final wildlife sightings along the way.
