Frequently Asked Questions

This safari is specifically designed to minimize driving by focusing only on Central Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Day 2 involves a 7 to 8-hour drive from Arusha to Serengeti, but Days 3 and 4 are spent completely inside the Serengeti with no highway driving. The return from Ngorongoro to Arusha on Day 6 is a comfortable 3.5-hour drive.
Yes! Both the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater are prime territories for the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). The Ngorongoro Crater floor is one of the best places in East Africa to spot the endangered black rhino.
The balloon safari takes place early on Day 4. You are picked up from Baobab Camp before dawn and transferred to the launch site. After a briefing, you enjoy a 1-hour sunrise flight followed by a traditional champagne bush breakfast. Your guide then picks you up to continue the day's game drives.
The Serengeti is generally warm during the day (25-28°C / 77-82°F) and cool at night. The Ngorongoro Crater rim stands at a high altitude (over 2,200m / 7,200ft) and can get very cold in the evening and early morning, dropping to 5-10°C (40-50°F). Warm layers are essential.
Yes, absolutely. Baobab Camp is a luxury tented camp with secure, fully enclosed canvas tents containing comfortable beds and private en-suite bathrooms. The camp is patrolled 24/7 by professional Masai warriors to ensure guest safety.
This focused safari is excellent year-round because the Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater floor have resident wildlife that does not migrate. However, the dry months from June to October offer the easiest wildlife viewing.
