After an early breakfast, depart Arusha for the 2-3 hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its stunning baobab-dotted landscapes and the life-giving Tarangire River. Upon arrival, begin a full-day game drive through acacia woodlands and open savannah, searching for the park's famous elephant herds, often numbering in the hundreds.

Keep your camera ready for giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and if lucky, lions or leopards resting in shady trees.
