Escape to Tanzania's only coastal wildlife sanctuary on this exclusive 2-day safari where the wild bush meets the Indian Ocean beach. Saadani National Park remains one of Africa's best-kept secrets, a pristine wilderness spanning 1,100 km² of savannah, mangrove forests, and untouched coastline. This is the only place in East Africa where elephants roam near sandy beaches and giraffes graze with ocean waves in the background. Enjoy intimate game drives across open grasslands, a thrilling boat safari along the Wami River watching hippos and crocodiles, and relaxation on secluded beaches where green turtles nest. A BMC TOURS & SAFARI guide will meet you for a seamless journey into this uncrowded paradise, where every moment blends adventure with coastal tranquility.
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your Dar es Salaam hotel or airport by your BMC TOURS & SAFARI guide, followed by a scenic 4-hour drive through coastal villages to Saadani National Park. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive across the park's savannah plains and acacia woodlands.
Spot elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and possibly lions from the Bab's Camp pride. As sunset approaches, your guide drives you to the beach where you can witness the magical sight of wildlife against the Indian Ocean horizon.
Dinner and overnight at Simply Saadani Camp
Wake early for breakfast before embarking on a memorable boat safari along the Wami River, Saadani's lifeline and wildlife corridor. Glide silently past pods of hippos, crocodiles basking on sandbanks, and kingfishers diving for fish while fish eagles call overhead.
After the boat safari, enjoy free time on Saadani's pristine, undeveloped beach—swim in the warm Indian Ocean, walk along palm-fringed shores, or simply relax listening to the waves. Depending on the season (February-July), you may learn about green turtle nesting conservation efforts. After lunch at your lodge, begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam with your BMC guide, arriving in the evening for drop-off at your hotel.
